Pauline Hanson's call for court abolishment

In a news report on 22 July 2016 Pauline Hanson from One Nation party said she wants the Family Court system to be scrapped and replaced with a tribunal made up of people from "mainstream Australia".

Family law experts have dismissed calls from Pauline Hanson for the Family Court to be abolished. But experts in the field say although there are problems, a new tribunal isn't the answer.

Rather than creating a new tribunal, there have been calls for better funding to deal with the high number of cases.

In Western Australia in 2015 there was a 6.5% increase in application for final orders from 2014. The numbers will not go down.

The Good News is there is an alternative to going through the Family Court system.
